Public Notice is looking for a research director. The research director is responsible for ensuring that the organization always uses factual information as well as research for all of its projects, products, and projects. This is done by using the best resources available from media, academia, and government sources. Public Notice is an independent non-profit dedicated to providing facts and insights on the economy and how government policy affects America’s financial well-being. It is our mission to engage Americans on today’s policies and avoid tomorrow’s problems through education and awareness projects.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Research and fact check all data for any projects, products, and projects the organization communicates to the public.
- Take initiative to stay apprised of various projects within the organization by notifying staff as appropriate legislative and executive branch policies that directly impact the organization’s mission.
- Coordinate the production and/or producing fact checking position papers, fact sheets, op-eds, briefing books, videos, infographics, other visual products and research projects.
- Manage the production by of print, television, video, radio and new media advertisements by ensuring the accuracy of all data and appropriate policy is promoted in the organization’s mission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- A minimum of 5 years of related research, legislative, or policy experience – experience on Capitol Hill or in the executive branch is preferred
- Good understanding of economic and fiscal policy
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work independently and think strategically
- Preference for working in a fast-paced and creative work environment
- A personal political philosophy compatible with the organization’s mission and public policy objectives
- Self-motivated, organized team player, with a high sense of urgency, and passion
Public Notice seeks a Creative Director. The Creative Director will be responsible for communicating strategic goals into actionable visual and written solutions by establishing the conceptual direction for creative staff. Orchestrating both their work and the work of production professionals with a high emphasis on creating visual products to educate Americans on economic issues. Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight for branding, graphics, visual communications, interactive/motion/products, video, creative copywriting, video scripts, product prototyping, and interior design.
- Provide oversight that the right resources are in place from designers to videographers to copywriters for visually compelling products on message.
- Support multiple projects from conception through completion.
- Aid in development of creative programs and design concepts that meet the project objectives including messaging.
- Support creative direction for the entire line of the organization’s services inspiration and play.
- Inspire to reinforce camaraderie and trust in collaborative environment to foster a creative department.
- Provide simultaneous leadership to multiple teams or individuals.
- Manage a functional team with other Directors by setting examples for effective and positive collaboration between disciplines and roles across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field
- Must possess an understanding of interactive communications and delivery systems
- Possess the knowledge of layouts, photography, videography, interior design, graphic fundamentals, and typography
- Possess an ability to storyboard or translate ideas to designers and develop innovative motion graphics solutions
- Possess knowledge of how both media for integrated campaigns work
- Experience as a graphic designer or videographer is a plus, but not required
- Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Exhibits a dedication to the goals of organization’s mission and economic freedom
Public Notice is seeking a Digital Media Strategist to manage and expand the organization’s online presence. The Digital Media Strategist will execute various aspects of the digital media strategy, manage the development and design of projects, and manage the production and release of online content. Public Notice is an independent non-profit dedicated to providing facts and insights on the economy and how government policy affects America’s financial well-being. It is our mission to engage Americans on today’s policies and avoid tomorrow’s problems through education and awareness projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and design of various issue campaign projects.
- Manage the production and release of online content for the organization through blogs, Twitter, Facebook posts, etc.
- Expand existing online community presence through social networks.
- Review and report on social media analytics.
- Write and update website content.
- Manage and execute the distribution of all mass email communication.
- Assist with all online paid advertising.
Essential Qualifications:
- 2-4 years experience in digital media communications roles
- A self-starter with a track record of creative, outside-the-box thinking
- A strong interest in innovating with technology and the web
- Possess strong attention to detail
- Strong writer, editor, and blogger
- Passionate about digital media, a fast learner, and creative team player
- Previous experience working on the hill, within a campaign or in an issue advocacy capacity is preferred
- A strong interest in communicating economic policies is preferred
- Prior web development experience, content management software like WordPress or Drupal, design experience, video production, web development, (HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc.) or graphic design (Photoshop) is preferred

Paid Internships
A 501 (c) 4 non-partisan economic-focused organization seeks to fill various internship positions. The goal of the organization is to advance open markets and economic growth.
The intern has a variety of responsibilities depending on what is most needed on a given day, such as assisting with written policy messages, strategies for written communication, press outreach, and administrative tasks. The intern will work mainly with the Policy team and Earned Media team. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or within one year of graduation) in relevant field
- Outstanding research and communications skills
- Preference for working in a fast-paced work environment
- A personal political philosophy compatible with the organization’s mission and public policy objectives
- Self-motivated, organized team player, with a high sense of urgency, and passion for economic freedom.
Qualified candidates will be excited to contribute to a growing organization, a strong sense of professional and ethical responsibility. Must be able to work independently and on a team while handling multiple projects.
Salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
